Ice Cream Bar sequel heading to the Castro

(Photo: Ice Cream Bar) Cole Valley's Ice Cream Bar is set to open a second location this fall in the Castro.

It looks like Ice Cream Bar, Cole Valley’s 1930s-style soda fountain, will be launching a second location.

According to Eater SF, the forthcoming location will be located in the former L’Occitane space at 18th and Castro.

The Cole Valley charmer has gained a loyal following with its malts, phosphates and other old timey treats since owner Juliet Pries imported all the pieces of the period diner from Mackinaw City, Michigan some three years ago.

Look for the new space to open sometime this coming fall. No word on exact menus yet, but expect pastry chef Lori Rich to oversee the Castro kitchen along with the original Cole Valley location.
